A gîte holiday at Ressegayre is for relaxing,

Cazes-Mondenard is centrally placed in a beautiful, relatively
unspoiled area. Cazes-Mondenard is not a pretty tourist village
but a working French village.

Here you will find a variety of small shops including
a baker, a butcher, a grocer, filling/service stations for cars,
the Post Office, a newsagent, a bank and the local
Hotel/Restaurant/Bar/Café l'Âtre.

Many things, just a few examples:


Places of Interest

There are numerous Bastide villages (medieval hill villages )
usually with colonnaded square and magnificent views.
The nearest one is only a ten minute drive, via a picturesque route
at Lauzerte. (There is a supermarket here.)

World Heritage site Rocamadour is an hour and a half away,
whilst Saint-Cirq Lapopie and Auvillar  are classed as two
of the prettiest villages in France, as is Cordes-du-Ciel

Many interesting Caves with incredible dripstone
and stalactite formations
or prehistoric paintings
are easy to get to in the nearby Causses-Region.


Cahors, a lively town, has some great shopping
and the 14th century Pont Valentré.

as well known as "Pont du Diable" (devil's bridge), is a World Heritage Site.


Cahors like Montauban and Toulouse have a wealth
of shops, museums, galleries and many other attractions
worth a trip!


Moissac, located on the traditional and still active
St.-Jacques pilgrims way to Santiago de Compostella,
boasts a 13th century Abbey and splendid cloisters.

Montech on the historic "Canal des deux mers" (two seas channel)
features fascinating historic water engineering such as the unique
"canal lift" known as "Pente d' Eau", with reputation in literature & movies:
Take a trip on the canals at Montech and follow a small section of the route
taken by Rick Stein as shown in the TV programme "French Odyssey".

Activities


Canoeing and Kayaking on the Lot River and in
the famous scenic Aveyron Gorge.

Boating on the confluence of the Tarn and Garonne Rivers.

Quad Biking, Parachute Jumping!

Horse Riding, Walking, Tennis Courts and excellent
Golf Courses are within easy reach,
as well as, of course, Boules!


What about more traditional activities ?

There is a colourful market in nearly every town or
large village on different days of the week, so plenty of
opportunity to try the really tasty local fresh produce.
(look for local produce as "produits du pays")

If you would prefer to eat out then we can show you
a restaurant for each night of your stay to sample
the well known regional cuisine and wines!

Throughout the summer the villages have their fêtes.
Here you can sit outside and eat with the villagers
and dance the night away.
